Last year, the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) issued its Safer Practice Notice, Standardising wristbands improves patient safety to all NHS organisations in England and Wales. The Safer Practice Notice requires all NHS organisations in England and Wales to standardise wristbands by July 18th 2008, with the final clause to be completed by July 18th 2009.
